Rastin of rmdStudio and I met yesterday in Kitsilano at Calhoun’s Bakery (below) where we first partnered in 2007 to officially incorporate TAZZU as TAZZU™ Networking Ltd.

This meeting today however was to mark the passing of time, and acknowledge the winds of change.

We did some reflecting and agreed that TAZZU had definitely been a blast!

Rastin and Jen at Calhoun's

Since that first meeting in ’07 TAZZU has had its share of successes - initially a vibrant growing community, networking meetings in Yaletown, Gastown and Richmond, a number of WordPress Camps, Joomla Camps, including organizing and hosting the very first Joomla Day in Canada: "JoomlaDay Vancouver 2008".

The TAZZU community grew from an initial small handful of local acquaintances in 2006 to a vibrant group with members hailing from around the globe.

Some say that all good things must come to an end. I'm not so sure this is true, but what I do know is that time keeps ticking, and along with the passing of time comes change.

JenTekk was hired to convert the Fairlawn Labradors static website to a WordPress site so that the client could update the content herself. We decided this was a great time to give the Fairlawn site a fresh new look. The photo of Cassie - a Fairlawn pup - is absolutely irresistible and an obvious choice to showcase the beauty of their puppies.

Design Tech Hair Studio is a very successful hair salon in Richmond. Its original design - built in 2003 - reflected the salon's brand back then. Built originally as a static site, it was time to take advantage of newer technology and move Design Tech Hair Studio onto a platform where they'd be able to update the content themselves. We chose to use WordPress and seized the opportunity to update the site's look and feel as well. This resulted in a sexy and clean website, reflecting the salon's new brand, colors and attitude.

Christian with the Jesus factor

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God." - Psalm 42:1

I Am Christain

As a member of several networking forums, I am no stranger to the process of filling in one's profile. The purpose of a profile is to reveal a bit about yourself and bring some definition to who you are through your occupation, company, interests, website, blog etc.

On occasion, a profile will also include an opportunity to share information of a more personal nature such as hobbies, activities, political stand, and religious views. It is the latter that I find myself giving much thought to.

In the 2001 Census, 78 % of Canadians claimed to be Christian, yet there is seeming little similarity in how this religious view is lived out in their lives.

With so many people calling themselves a Christian, and their lives, choices, convictions and morals contradicting each other, I wonder how calling myself a Christian could possibly draw a clear picture of my religious views.
