Vancouver Coastal Health Project: CL'cK
Pilot Project
Connecting Learners with Knowledge (CL'cK)
Description
The CL'cK initiative focuses on overcoming barriers that exist between clinicians and the knowledge they require to meet the complex needs of their clients. Initiative funded by the BC Health Education Fund, sponsored by the Provincial Home and Community Care Council, with the participation of all BC Health Authorities.
Brief
The objective of the CL'cK pilot project was to develop a personalized learning area for clinical learners; a virtual location where relevant knowledge could be accessed and shared by BC front-line clinicians. The pilot needed to feature two Communities of Practice and support the exchange of expertise between COP members.

The Results
At launch, the CL'cK pilot project supported two Communities of Practice (COP) - Skin & Wound Care, and Learning & Leadership. Each COP had its own area where members could upload or download support tools, information sheets, access important web links, e-modules, and various other resources. In addition, a private members-only discussion board gave the clinicians opportunity to ask sensitive questions, share first-hand knowledge and support each other.
The CL'cK pilot project was a huge success! While slated to end Dec. 2011, the website and community is still going strong with already more than 200 members and the recent addition of a third COP: Contraceptive Management.
